Avoid these Foods When you are Asthmatic
Asthma is a long-lasting disease, which makes the lungs get inflated, because of which the airways get constrained and breathing becomes strenuous. Asthma explodes, during the cold weather, stress, virus, smoke, stress and of course food, here we present to you 4 foods that will trigger the asthma level –
- Citrus Fruits and Tomatoes – They are rich in fiber, which might worsen asthma. These fruits are also acidic in nature, which might negatively influence the symptoms, esp., oranges, nectarines, grapefruit, lemons, limes and tomatoes.
- Salty Foods – Salt is a flavor enhancer. Too much intake of salt might worsen the asthma symptoms. Salt has high sodium content in it, which is mandatory for an asthmatic patient. So, sodium has to be consumed in the form of foods like – chili, meats, cheese, pretzels, potato chips, tortilla chips, and gravy mixes.
- Oily Meats – These add up to excessive fat in the body. Fatty meats will cause inflammation of the lungs and makes it worse to breathe. These fatty meats can be replaced with fish, lean meat and legumes.
- Dairy Products – Milk, yogurt and cheese will worsen the asthmatic symptoms. The texture of the dairy products is dense and it will cause lung inflammation, making it difficult to breathe. To avoid this scenario limit or avoid food products which contains a hefty amount of cream, cheese, butter or milk.
